Historical fallback: field-of-study bytes and matching dictionary are from February 7, 2022. The latest advertised Scorecard release is June 10, 2026; its direct downloads returned HTTP 403 on September 22, 2026.
The data.ed.gov field download URL says 2025, but its ZIP timestamp, schema, and matching dictionary identify the retained 2022 file. URL text is not treated as a release date.
Institution identities come from the separate IPEDS 2024–25 directory; tuition from 2023–24 and grant-aided net price from 2022–23. These are historical institution-wide facts, not current program prices.
Complete Scorecard institution bulk and historical OPEID/UNITID crosswalk package could not be retrieved. Two dated IPEDS directory observations are retained; intervening identity continuity is not inferred.
No campus medians are averaged, and duplicate OPEID6 earnings/debt observations are represented once. Awards counts retain their UNITID level.
Official program pages verify only the named current program. Historical aggregate outcomes cannot be assigned to that individual program.

Other credential levels, nonselected health fields, and computing-adjacent fields outside the included CIP families are excluded. Nursing-related aggregates are not labeled as individual RN programs.
How records are selected
Seventy institutions: four current-program review anchors, then six eligible institutions in each of CA, FL, TX, NC, NY, OH, PA, WA, IL, OR, then ascending UNITID. Within a state, prefer institutions with at least two usable fields, then UNITID. Publish at most two fields per institution, prioritizing CIP 5138 then ascending CIP. This is a bounded starter edition, not a ranking. Full eligible rows are retained locally.
Each published entity must have an identifiable institution, traceable source, known periods, and meaningful data with explanatory context. Search indexing has an additional editorial check: a field record needs at least two reported field observations or a separately verified current program with matching identifiers. 124 of the 130 published field records currently meet that check. Records with less evidence remain available in the reference but are marked noindex. Field and state collections need five distinct institutions with qualifying records to enter the production sitemap. These are our publication choices, not numerical requirements from a search engine. No volume target overrides those checks.

Refresh policy
Source-release and changelog checks are run separately at least monthly. New snapshots publish only after schema, identity, source-value, and completeness checks pass. A failed update leaves the last validated snapshot in place.
